Product Description - Model LPNFNF06

AIR802® model LPNFNF06 is a very high quality coaxial gas discharge suppressor. This surge protector or lightning arrestor provides excellent performance and operates from 0 to 6 GHz. This model has N jack-female bulkhead to N jack-female connectors.

In order to provide superior performance and longevity AIR802 has designed and manufactured the protector body material with Tri-Metal Albaloy (Copper/Tin/Zinc) plated brass. Competitive products have either a simple lightweight aluminum body or nickel plated brass. This product is an industry first providing the best possible performance available for a coaxial gas discharge protection device. Now you can have both corrosion resistant and low Intermodulation distortion (IMD) characteristics in one product. We provide the following chart to illustrate the positive and negative characteristics of each plating type.

Model LPNFNF06 offers a standard 90 VDC breakdown voltage and passes DC. A L-shaped mounting bracket is included for ease of installation.

NOTE ON GAS TUBE REPLACEMENTS: Gas discharge protectors are the most common type of protector device with the ability to sustain numerous electrical pulses and generally have a long life duration. The gas tubes are easily replaceable in models supporting up to 3 GHz in frequency. For protectors supporting up to 6 GHz the gas tube is NOT recommended to be replaced. Appropriate equipment is needed to insure perfect seating of the tube in order to maintain the desired electrical characteristics and performance. Therefore AIR802 does not offer replacement gas tubes for any 6 GHz models. Unfortunately some less than honest companies may offer replacement tubes and leave buyers with the belief that they can easily replace the tube. Regardless of who manufactures a 6 GHz device, the tube cannot be replaced without the appropriate test or lab equipment.

Customer Advice

AIR802® reminds all customers, particularly those in the United States that it is a requirement of the National Electric Code to ground every antenna mast and coaxial cables entering buildings from the exterior. Protectors and proper grounding protect lives, equipment and safeguard against building fires. Regardless of which country you are installing equipment, it is highly recommended to implement grounding protection against surges from indirect lightning strikes or surges caused by other sources. Surge protectors can also protect wireless equipment against static electricity buildup. We strongly encourage following local electrical codes and use of professional installers.
