Product Description - Model CN2RTJB

This AIR802® connector is a Reverse Polarity TNC, referred to as a RP-TNC and is a jack or female bulkhead style connector for RG58, AIR802® CA195, Times Microwave LMR195® and similar cables. The center pin can be soldered or crimped.

AIR802® manufactures high precision and performance connectors. Connector selection is extremely important to insure proper operation and reliability. Poorly constructed connectors will cause higher VSWR and insertion loss resulting in electrical noise and intermittent issues. AIR802&#174 manufactures very large quantities of connectors for our global customers allowing us to provide an attractive quality to price ratio.

In choosing connectors, it is important to match one to the type of cable being used, the impedance (50 versus 75 ohms), the frequency support, insertion loss, voltage rating and environmental specifications. If you are an amateur considering buying connectors to install, we recommend that you purchase our pre-manufactured antenna cable assemblies which have been professionally assembled and tested. Installation of connectors without experience and proper equipment will lead to improperly terminated connectors.

This connector is a RP-TNC jack (female) for RG58 and 195-Series cable. Connectors can be a very confusing regarding the gender. There are RP-TNC and regular TNC connectors. RP-TNC is common with many wireless products. The RP-TNC jack is a female connector. The threads are on the outside and the pin protrudes from inside the connector. This causes confusion for many not familiar with various connector types leading them to believe that this is the male, however it is the female. This is why we prefer the term plug and jack in order to avoid confusion. For further clarification see our connector identification chart in the Knowledge Center area of our web site.  This particular connector is a bulkhead style connector which is often used to mount through enclosures.
