Product Description – Model CA400FLEX-RF1000-W

AIR802® manufactures CA400FLEX cable which offers equivalent characteristics and performance to Times Microwave LMR-400UF® ultraflex cable. This cable reel contains 1000 feet of white jacketed cable which is popular in the marine industry. This cable is also available in 500 feet reels as well as in a black jacket. This 50 ohm cable is significantly more flexible than CA400 due to the construction with stranded center conductors and a TPE jacket material. This cable is also an alternative to RG 213.

It is manufactured with a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) jacket. TPE has rubber-like properties and is sometimes referred to as thermoplastic rubber. TPE offers excellent environmental and chemical characteristics. There are considerable variances in TPE material. AIR802 engineering identified the best TPE material for use on antenna cables which might be installed in extreme cold to heat from Dupont Corporation. Other materials whether TPE or not if not appropriately chosen may result in stiffening when installed in extreme cold, suffer from UV radiation breakdown and other issue. Using the appropriate TPE material provides good abrasion resistance, heat resistance, resistance to UV sunlight, oxidation and atmospheric ozone. It does not have high resistance to hydrocarbons and would not be the most suitable for refining or gas processing plants. It is resistant to wear, cutting and impact. TPE retains its physical and electrical properties even in severe environmental conditions such as salt water making it very suitable for marine use.

This cable is constructed of stranded center conductors and coupled with the rubber-like TPE jacket provides for superior bending and flexibility.  CA400FLEX has excellent weatherability engineered for up to 20 years of life.

Pre-made antenna cable assemblies are also available from this cable in various lengths and connector options.
