The model PDCPOE1224DR is a DC to DC converter with Power Over Ethernet Injector output. This product was designed and manufactured by AIR802 for use in applications where 12 vdc voltage input exists and the equipment being installed requires power-over-Ethernet (PoE) with 24 vdc. This model is designed for din rail mounting. AIR802 offers short sections of  DIN Rail mount for our customers.

Two options for the input voltage exist. The default or primary use is to connect the + and - leads to the screw terminal which plugs into the front of the device. This allows direct connectivity to a battery, dc fuse terminal or other dc source. Optionally, the dc input voltage may enter from the network jack as PoE by opening the housing and sliding the slide switch to the opposite position.

There are two shielded Ethernet jacks on the top of the device. One jack is labeled, "Network" for network connectivity and will ordinarily connect to a switch, router, computer or other device. The other jack is labeled, "Equip + PoE" and is the output jack with 24vdc. Internally the data pins 1,2,3 and 6 are internally connected together between the two jacks. Pins 4 and 5 (+24vdc) and pins 7 and 8 (ground) are switched between the external dc connector or the Network jack to the Equip + PoE jack.

This model is designed for use with non-standard or pre-standard IEEE 802.3af specifications. It allows 24vdc output to flow without any detection signature. Many manufacturers' products are non-standard which allows for lower cost products. AIR802 offers another model, PDCPOEVA48AF for use with powered devices (PD) requiring IEEE 802.3af Mode B operation.

Applications of the DC - DC Converter + PoE Injector 12 VDC In and 24VDC PoE Out (Din Rail Mount):

• Powering access points requiring 24vdc in marine vessels

• Powering  access points requiring 24vdc in autos, trucks and RVs
• Powering access points or other devices from 12 vdc solar systems
• Oil & Gas Industry, Automotive, Marine, WISP and other sectors
• Any scenario where 24vdc PoE is required from a 12 vdc supply
