AIR802® manufactures high precision and performance connectors. Connector selection is extremely important to insure proper operation and reliability. Poorly constructed connectors will cause higher VSWR and insertion loss resulting in electrical noise and intermittent issues. AIR802® manufactures very large quantities of connectors for our global customers allowing us to provide an attractive quality to price ratio.
In choosing connectors, it is important to match one to the type of cable being used, the impedance (50 versus 75 ohms), the frequency support, insertion loss, voltage rating and environmental specifications. If you are an amateur considering buying connectors to install, we recommend that you purchase our pre-manufactured antenna cable assemblies which have been professionally assembled and tested. Installation of connectors without experience and proper equipment will lead to improperly terminated connectors.
This connector is RP-TNC jack for 600-Series type cables. Connectors can be a bit confusing regarding the gender. Note that both Reverse Polarity (RP) TNC and regular TNC connectors exist. RP-TNC is common with many wireless products. The RP-TNC jack is a female connector. It has threads on the outside and the pin protrudes from inside the connector. This causes confusion for many not familiar with various connector types leading them to believe that this is the male, however it is the female. We generally prefer the terms plug or jack to refer to connector genders in order to avoid confusion.
