Standard connectors are nickel or silver plated brass. This tri-metal (copper-tin-zince alloy) premium class connector provides the best possible performance. Now you can have both corrosion resistance and low intermodulation distortion (IMD) characteristics in one product. We provide the following chart to illustrate the positive and negative characteristics of each plating type.

QMA style connectors are frequently referred to as a quick-connect style. They were designed with the goal of being a replacement for SMA and N style connectors, which have threaded connections and for proper connection require a torque wrench. With the quick-connect design of the QMA the snap fastening results in more rapid connections. The QMA connector design also provides for 360° cable rotation which results in easier cable routing after the installation. QMA connectors are often used in cellular applications.
